What Is Memory Care?
Compassionate memory care is a means for supporting seniors experiencing cognitive challenges caused by conditions like Alzheimer’s and dementia. Our memory care services embody The Peregrine Way®—we will respect your loved one and celebrate what makes them unique.
Whether it’s through the melodies of classical music or the warmth of family-oriented activities, we aim to softly awaken cherished memories and enrich their everyday experiences.
What Can Memory Care Addresses
Empowered by The Peregrine Way®, our team is dedicated to helping seniors with cognitive challenges enjoy fulfilling daily experiences and an enriched quality of life. We can support people affected by a variety of conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and diverse types of dementia.
Our goal? To make every day a good day for our residents and infuse every moment at our community with warmth.
Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer’s disease is a prevalent type of dementia, and may manifest symptoms such as memory impairment, emotional fluctuations, and difficulty with activities of daily living.
While the onset of Alzheimer’s is more frequently observed in individuals over 65, it is not an inevitable aspect of the aging process. Personalized care can be provided to support people experiencing the effects of this condition.
Parkinson’s Disease
Parkinson’s disease is a condition commonly associated with tremors and rigidity, but it can often overlap with dementia. It may also give rise to other symptoms, including cognitive decline, mood disorders, and sleep disturbances.
Memory care can offer support for people and families affected by this condition.
Other Forms of Dementia
Dementia broadly refers to a range of conditions that impact memory, language, cognitive skills, and personality, and may include experiences of hallucinations. While these conditions can profoundly impact a person’s life, they do not have to define them.
At our community, we adjust our approach to memory care based on the individual needs of each of our residents.
When to Choose Memory Care
The effects of dementia can extend beyond the person affected and reach their family members. Being the primary caregiver for someone with dementia can be challenging. Memory care can offer support that helps you focus more on enjoying each day with your loved one.
There are a variety of indicators that it may be time to consider a memory care lifestyle for your loved one. Learning more about these signs can help you in being proactive for your loved one’s well being.
Forgetfulness
When more details start to slip, it may be crucial to consider a memory care lifestyle for your loved one. Forgetting important dates and appointments, neglecting to eat or make meals, and not taking proper medications can be strong indicators of dementia and should be investigated accordingly.
Wandering
Take notice if your loved one often finds themselves in unfamiliar situations. Wandering without cognition and unexplained bruises or injuries can be signs that you need to consider your loved one’s options for memory care.
Changes in Behavior
A drastic shift in personality can be another indicator of dementia or associated conditions. Mood swings, personality changes, and neglecting personal hygiene are behaviors to look out for in your loved one.

Our Testimonials
My mother in law moved into Peregrine in January. She receives prompt friendly assistance within minutes when she needs it. The meals are excellent and there is always an anytime menu. The nursing staff communicates whenever there is a change in medication or status. The residents are inclusive and friendly. The residents seem well cared for and happy. The facility is clean. There are activities daily and outings weekly. Hospice is able to follow her there and provides additional assistance. What I love is the size. Peregrine is an amazing little community and the leadership genuinely cares for the residents. We can rest knowing mom is well cared for and has the assistance she needs.

The holidays bring warmth and togetherness, but for those living with dementia, they can also bring overstimulation. Gentle adjustments can make a world of difference.
This holiday season, consider:
🎵 Playing soothing music instead of loud background noise
🕯️ Keeping gatherings smaller and familiar
❤️ Focusing on connection, not perfection
At Peregrine, we help families create environments that foster peace, comfort, and connection—ensuring that the season stays meaningful for everyone involved.
Little adjustments can make the season meaningful for everyone.
